Changes

Jake is now moved into his new dorm room at St. Olaf, and it feels like the real thing. The house is so quiet now, except for a neurotic dog who has developed behaviors involving loud thumping or groaning noises as she tries to scratch herself. It was an easy move on Saturday. Jake had brought most of his stuff already on Friday, so there were only a few things left and I didn't have to even carry anything into the dorm! His roommate seems like a good guy, and I can see them getting along quite nicely. The day that St. Olaf put on for us was nice, great food, of course, but the speakers were truly funny and entertaining to listen to. It was a class act. Now that Jake is starting college, I know better than to expect to hear much from him, but it's still kind of hard. This parenthood business is hard.
