Nick's New Place

Nick moved to downtown Minneapolis, and I was able to see his place last weekend. He's renting a condo on the 16th floor of a high rise building. The elevator was smooth and efficient, so not a problem to ride for me. I was also impressed with the property, really clean and well maintained. It even has it's own secured park with pool and tennis courts, spacious and actually fairly quiet considering it's right down on Hennepin Avenue. We picked up supper to eat with him, and then he took us on a tour to see the views of the Mpls skyline from the roof, which was on the next building attached to his, on the 29th floor. Before he moved in, we worried about the safety of the neighborhood, you just never know about Minneapolis, but he says that people have been pretty friendly to him, maybe because he looks a bit like Jesus or actor Jason Momoa!

September Brown Eyed Book Club Beauties

The Brown Eyed Book Club Beauties met this morning at Mona's condo. We've decided that Sunday mornings at 10am are a good time to get together ... less traffic on the roads, of course, plus it's easy finding a time that works for everybody's schedule. And although we haven't officially resumed group books to read between meetings, we've all been regularly reading books on our own. It was suggested that the next time we meet, we can give the group an update on those books. It doesn't really matter, I guess. We like to get together regardless, and we do like the name of our club! Today we had egg bake, bacon, oatmeal with pumpkin/pecans/chocolate, fresh fruit, cinnamon rolls, and hot cider. We talked for over four hours! Then I said I should get going because I was also planning on driving out to see Nick's new place, more on that later. Our next meeting will be in October, and the plan is to meet at the Chanhassen American Legion.

Another Gig

Bruce was invited to play at the Badger Hill Brewing Company in Shakopee recently. Mark drove along and hung out with me, which was nice. We ordered light lemony beers to drink, and a Heggies pizza to eat. There was a tip jar that they split between the three people performing, but I forgot to ask how much he got, maybe I'll try to remember to ask him today.
