Lemon Drops

Mom and Dad's townhouse has now been sold. Somehow I thought that I might be feeling more relief than I am, but I guess there is plenty of worry to be had no matter what.

The lady who bought the townhouse seems to be glad about moving in there, though, and that's good. We told her she could store some of her things in the garage the week before closing, and we noticed that she had the exact same set of wooden TV trays that my folks have! I took that as a positive sign meaning that all was meant to be. I do hope she loves living there!

Pa came over to help me finish up the last of the packing. Our friendship goes back to 6th grade, and she also happens to know my folks well. As we tackled the last closet of clothes, things got a little silly. I was grateful for the fun and distraction of the moment, thank you Pa.

And as with the usual exploration, little treasures would continue to pop up. We found quite a few little plastic film containers holding a lemon drop or two in the pockets of dad's clothes, and that will now remain a sweet memory when I think of him. How he loved lemon drops.

Next up, the cabin ...
