Baby Daniel

Baby Daniel was born on April 5th at 10pm, 7 pounds 14 ounces, and what a sweet little peanut he is! 😘

Little Boy Loves the Cake Book

Little boy had come over in the morning that day, and ended up staying until Saturday, which worked out well. We kept busy playing, and took trips to McDonald's for a Happy Meal and to Menards where we found a new friend, "Hedge", a night light that changes colors. We didn't go visiting at the hospital because little boy had a runny nose and cough, although we did drive Avi back to the hospital when he decided to park his car here until Katie and baby were discharged. No sense in keeping two cars parked in a hospital ramp!

On our way back from dropping Avi off at the hospital, we got turned around in our directions, and ended up driving by George Floyd Square, and what a surprise that was.

Yikes!

The next day, we drove out to check on their chickens. It was a bit of a learning curve for me to figure out how to feed and water them, but they were quite polite chickens, and were mostly interested in eating and drinking versus escaping the coop, so that was a relief. I was able to collect more eggs, too, which Katie said I could take home. I feel so blessed for all the delicious eggs she's been gifting me with. 💕

Hello

Are you going to feed us?

Yummy

We met Baby Daniel on Saturday. We're now Namma Namma Pop Pop to two grandsons! Little boy finally got to meet his baby brother, and it was fun to see his reaction. At one point, he was looking for the pedals that were missing on his trike, and he bent down to Daniel and said, seriously, "Have you seen the pedals, Daniel?" 😂

On Easter Sunday, I had big plans to bring over a rotisserie chicken and several salads from Cub Foods, but we discovered that Cub (as well as Target, and just about every other store that sells groceries) was closed. 😜 So, back to our house to go shopping in the basement freezer where I found a Brew Pub Lottsa Mozza pizza, a box of frozen pigs in a blanket, and a Marie Callendar Key Lime Pie! Little boy got an Easter basket and went on an egg hunt.

Honey 💕

I can't believe that Baby Daniel is already almost two weeks old. He had his first bath at home last night, and is even sleeping between feedings some nights. Good boy. I also have to add that there wasn't a complete winner in our Baby Guessing Poll. Brianna and Grandma Joyce guessed the correct day, but had guessed a girl. Maybe they should both get a prize anyway!

Waiting On Baby

Winters in Minnesota can be a little wild at times, you just never know what you're going to get. We had another humdinger of a snowfall this weekend, which pushed Minnesota into the third snowiest winter ever (well, maybe for as long as people have been keeping track 😉 ) at 89.7 inches. And, there's talk of more snow coming in on Tuesday, too.

Our new grand baby is due this week, but it's probably a good thing that baby didn't decide to arrive over the weekend, because Katie and Avi were snowed in ...

We had a Palm Sunday dinner today instead of on Easter and I made glazed spiral cut ham, steamed baby red potatoes, roasted carrots, corn, deviled eggs, sour dough bread (from Katie), Mom's lemon jello recipe with pineapple & bananas & marshmallows, and cherry poke cake. Little boy was especially excited about the lemon jello and cherry poke cake. He was also very polite when he asked me if he could have something sweet to eat.

We decided to take a poll as to when people thought a baby girl or baby boy would arrive, and winner gets a prize! I can hardly wait to meet our new little one.  ðŸ’•ðŸ’•ðŸ’•
