The Big Move

Grandma Gloria is now moved into the memory unit. It seems like a good place for her, lots of room to roam and lots of interesting things to look at. The staff seem like they know what they are doing, too. There are resident animals living there, Bree is the hound in the photos and also a big orange tabby that looks a lot like Pumpkin. Moves are hard, but I think this move has ended up being a very good thing.

Wedding Anniversary

Today was our 27th wedding anniversary. Bruce gave me flowers and candy and I gave him a chocolate frog and a couple of favorite DVDs. I made us some beef stroganoff, spinach salads with strawberries, and cheesecake for supper and then we went to the Old Log to see Almost Maine. A gal serving drinks there gave us each a couple of glasses of pink champagne, and on the house! It was a sweet day, and we even had Jake home with us for dinner. Can we make it another 27 years?  I'm thinking so.  :-)

So Far, So Good

The week looks to be a busy one as we'll be moving Grandma Gloria to her new memory unit on Saturday. Pumpkin and Cleo get to go with, but they need to be up to date on their shots and they are not ... so I started calling clinics in the area and just happened to find the one she used to bring them to. Plus, they had an opening for us to bring them in before the weekend. Things are looking up!

I made some homemade yogurt in the yogurt maker I had forgotten that I had, and it turned out well. I used whole milk this batch, but next time I'll try 2% or skim.

Katie's roommate, Kasha, crocheted me a hat ... Katie helped her pick out the yarn ... and I love it. Warm and fashionable!  :)  We're still having plenty of cold temps below zero, and I need to dress warm for my walk to the Care Center.

And, our wedding anniversary is coming up on Valentine's Day. I think we'll celebrate by going to a play at the Old Log, but there were no dinner spots open, so maybe I'll make something for us before we go. I'll have to think on that one.

Nick's New Place

We helped Nick move into his new apartment this week. It's close to the Mall of America, and by the light rail and bus lines, so he should be able to go just about anywhere he needs to. I told him that he needed to invite us over for a casserole sometime, and he said he just might.

Meatloaf Monday

Since Jake is home on break, we had a meatloaf Monday last night!

The puzzle is now done.

And my car has a leaky tire that I will need to deal with soon.
