We ended up having a nice Christmas this year even though it wasn't the same without Dad or Katie being home with us.
A new tradition might have been discovered, too, as I ended up listening to kool108 Christmas tunes on the radio for most of the day as I cooked ...
We had some worries as Dad became very ill the night before Christmas Eve with a high fever and delirium. The nurse who was caring for him was on top of it, and I am grateful to her for all that she did for him, getting him started on antibiotics, putting cool compresses on his forehead, and giving him fluids to drink. They wondered if his aspiration pneumonia hadn't really cleared, and though the chest X-ray they took didn't show anything obvious, his fever did go down with the antibiotics, and they were able to avoid his going back into the hospital.
I got to have both of my boys home for Christmas, which made this mama very happy.
And now, onto the New Year ...
