Monroe Crossing At The Supper Club

Jake and Brianna's birthday gift to Bruce last week was taking us all to Crooner's Supper Club to hear Monroe Crossing! We love Monroe Crossing, and most of my people know that I'm just a little obsessed with supper clubs...

Crooners has been described as a classic 1960's-styled nightclub from the Sinatra era, and had the low lighting and dark wood I hoped to see, plus a more traditional supper club menu. We decided to order signature cocktails instead of our usual glass of wine, Bruce ordering an Old Fashioned and me ordering The Casino. For our meals, I had parmesan crusted walleye, Bruce had grilled salmon, Brianna had risotto, and Jake had smoked duck!

Monroe Crossing is a bluegrass band that we've enjoyed listening to for years. Towards the end of the show, they asked the audience for any requests, and I decided to be bold, and yelled out "Micah 6:8", which they actually heard, and then performed. Act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.

After the show, the guy playing bass walked down to talk to folks, and Bruce told him about the time that we took Grandma Gloria to hear them play at the high school some years ago. Grandma Gloria had decided that she really liked the bass player, and somehow managed to get up onto the stage to talk to him. He didn't remember that incident, but we sure do!

Supper Clubs are wonderful, but so is hanging out with Jake and Brianna. 💜
