Celebrating Poinsettia Day |
It made me happy to see so many Christmas activities at Elder Homestead this year! And I'm always delighted to be able to see pictures on their Facebook page because Mom doesn't always remember what she's done during her day. To see her laughing and participating in so many things goes a long way in making me feel better. Deep inside, I know they're taking good care of her, but it's human to worry at times. I just want her to be happy.

Goodies for the Staff |
Christmas carols with the Fire Department, decorating ornaments and gingerbread houses, and reindeer games were a few of the things they did. Cheryl, activity director, puts together a nice daily routine for them, and also updates the Facebook page. Thank you, Cheryl!

SO HAPPY to see her grandsons |

Nick and Jake were able to attend the Christmas Lunch with us this year. Santa made an appearance, and handed out gift bags. (Mom got a large word find book, a puzzle with horses on it, and a pretty grey cardigan sweater. Whoever suggested what she might like was spot on.) Mom was almost giddy with excitement to see Santa!
And, Mom loves her little Christmas tree in her apartment. Barb, one of her oldest friends in Minnesota, gave her that tree a couple of years ago. Of course, we can leave the tree up for a long time if Mom wants, but I also gave her a fairy tree light for Christmas, and I think she'll probably really like looking at that in the evenings, too.
