Trip To Salt Lake City (Day Three)

This morning, we drove to the Market Street Grill Downtown for breakfast. We all ordered their famous Eggs Benedict with the exception of Bruce, who ordered the Salmon omelet. We were surprised at how little traffic the downtown area seemed to have at this time of day.

Quaking Aspen

Then into Provo Canyon to see Robert Redford's Sundance Mountain Resort. There were more awesome views of the mountain, and the sound of trickling water to soak in. I remembered a dessert from the 1980's called The Next Best Thing To Robert Redford, and of course, we had to take a few cheesy tourist pictures while we were there...

St Francis of Assisi, known for compassion and healing of animals

Next stop was to see the St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Orem. Rosie's son (Jim) designed and created all of the murals in the worship area. They were amazing, and this was definitely a highlight of our day. We decided that Jim is kind of a big deal!

Onward to see La Caille, an upscale French restaurant where Dan worked as a chef soon after he made his move to Salt Lake City years ago. And, loving animals as much as I do, it was fun to see all the exotic birds roaming freely around the restaurant grounds.

We walked through Dan's townhome, and drove past Rosie's previous place in Sandy. We saw a number of Mule Deer, who have large ears like mules. And then stopped for supper at Chili's before heading back for the night. Dan had baby back ribs, and was quite happy about that.

We've been seeing so many places today that Rosie had to make me a list to help me remember!
