Turning 65

This number is a bit hard to wrap my head around, but I am grateful for many things that others my age might not still have, like good health and mobility. And, family and friends to worry about, and love.

I'm grateful to still have my mom, even though she didn't remember it was my birthday. I told her that I was turning 65, and she said that she was 70. Then remembered that she was 90 and said, I can't help it! All you can do is try to stay safe. I love you, Mom. 💕

Katie and the boys called me to video chat, and Aaron sang to me. Danzer kept trying to get in on the screen and was pretty unhappy when he was nudged aside. All my babies texted me to say Happy Birthday, plus on Sunday we'd all gone to Kobe to celebrate Nick's and my birthday as a family. It was too bad that Katers had to stay home, though, because she wasn't feeling well. 😞

Bruce went for a walk with me around Lake Harriet, and strung some purple lights in our back screen porch because he knows that I love all things sparkly and colorful. We grabbed a late lunch out, and brought home some French Silk Pie to eat while we watched our evening show of Call The Midwife. It was a perfect birthday, actually.
