Easter 2024

💙💚💛💜

We had a small Easter gathering this year, down to 5 from the original group of 12-13 that were invited. Avi came down with Covid after his week of travel, so their entire family stayed home out of caution because Grandma Joyce was going to be here. Also then friends of theirs, Liz and Kevin. Nick wasn't feeling great, so he stayed home. And since Brianna was starting her NICU rotation soon, she didn't want to risk getting sick right before, and opted to stay home. I decided to just go ahead and make the massive amount of food that would have fed everyone, plan being that we'd drop off meals to those who couldn't make it over.

Mom did well while she was here. She loved watching Tristin, and ate her entire plate of food, plus pie. She looked relaxed, and said a number of times how happy she was to be here. After she went home to Elder Homestead, it was forgotten that she'd even come over, but I know that she enjoyed the afternoon, and that's what counts.

The Orange Jello

We had a spiral cut glazed ham, baked Mac & Cheese, steamed baby potatoes and string beans, glazed carrots, orange jello with little mandarin oranges, sunflower crunch salad, deviled eggs, Hawaiian sweet rolls, and a Marie Callendar's Cherry Crunch pie that was SO good.

I was prepared!

I had planned on an egg hunt for Aaron, but I suppose we can still do that another time. I gave Bruce his Easter Basket of candy, and now that I think about it, I've given him one every year for the last 42 years!!! That's a long time, right?
