More Normal, Please

The year continues to be a challenge with virus cases on the rise, and political unrest. I guess we're all trying to get by the best that we can, and hopefully things will improve sooner than later. Katie and her little family will be traveling here from Maryland next week, and I do want the house to be as peaceful and clean as possible. I'm focusing on clearing off flat surfaces, and shrinking piles of papers, although I sometimes get stuck and feel like the piles just sort of move around. When that happens, I need to walk away and come back to it later. I did get rid of three ugly tan metal chairs on Facebook Marketplace, though, and was surprised at the response, with 18 people messaging me of their interest! I've also made the decision to skip workouts at Curves for the time being ... again, the virus ... time to keep a tighter bubble of people around me in anticipation of the holidays coming up. Not that the holidays will be normal. New mandates are that there be no more than 10 people at one time visiting, and then only from 3 different families at most. And actually, they're recommending that people not get together at all, but maybe do a virtual get together instead. I know it makes sense, but it's still sad. We'll probably wear our masks, and stay 6 feet apart. And I have a feeling that I'll make way too much food because I'm used to cooking for a bigger crowd. Oh, well. If it weren't winter in Minnesota, we could eat outside, but it's cold, so that's not going to happen! The bright side of things is that I'm looking forward to Katie and little boy staying with us for awhile. (Avi will come for the actual holidays, but has to get back to work in between) Little boys have a way of making life feel more alive and normal. That's what I want, more normal.
