We were almost all ready for Christmas, we really were. But then an unthinkable thing happened. We came down with the flu. Diana had arrived from Bellingham on the Monday before Christmas, and then on Tuesday, the flu hit me hard. Bruce had already been moving slowly from whatever respiratory thing he had (a home test later showed influenza A) but he was at this point well enough to at least be able to hang out with Diana while I slept for a couple of days. I'm grateful that I was able to get Tamaflu, which helped so much. And it was bad enough to cancel Christmas, but it was a very sad thought to think about the possibility of missing Jake and Brianna's wedding later on in the week. Katie stopped by on Christmas morning with bone broth, a ham dinner that she'd made, and gifts. She even brought food and presents to Nick and Mark. 💕 Then on News Years Eve, we had the appetizers we'd planned to eat on Christmas Eve for whoever was able to come over.
