Start of October

Jake came home for a visit yesterday, mostly so he could see Grandma Gloria one more time. She's been on Hospice, and is no longer eating. Yesterday she was still able to look at us, and said a couple of words as Bruce talked to her about family and pets she'd had over the years. The staff at Sunrise have been good to her, and she looked comfortable.

We ate at Snuffy's for lunch, and I made some Italian Wonderpot for supper, one of Jake's favorite meals. It was a good batch, too! (Wonderpot turns out different every time it's made, so you never really know.)

We had a bit of a situation as Jake was getting ready to head back to school. His favorite pen that Caitlyn had given him had mysteriously disappeared ... it was looking bleak, and then Bruce took one more look at a chair in the living room. He had it turned it upside down and then heard something inside, and then there it was.

Diana is flying out on Tuesday for a visit, which will be good. Hard to know how much time Grandma Gloria has, but hopefully she will still be awake and be able to recognize her.

As for the daily things needing to be taken care of today, I need to gas up the car for the work week, finish up the paperwork needed to take with to Dad's upcoming appointment at Struther's Clinic, and of course get all the items out for charity pickup tomorrow.

Wishing you all a wonderful week.
