It's almost August, and summer is slipping away.
Katie and Avi have come and gone, and are now in Israel. Funny how it seems there is time and then there isn't. I miss her terribly already, but it is what it is. Jake is still in New Mexico, but should be heading home in a couple of weeks for a short time before starting his senior year at St. Olaf. Another passage of time! And Nick is down in Winona, soon to start fall semester as he pursues his degree in Computer Science.
After multiple admissions to the hospital and transitional care units for therapy, Dad is currently in a care center close to where we live, and for the first time in six months, appears to be more stable. His legs are not working as he'd want, though, and I guess time will tell if he will ever be able to walk much again. But I do think he's getting good care there, and that's comforting to me. Mom has moved into an assisted living facility close by, and seems to be adjusting well, meeting new friends and even winning at Bingo. I guess though things are not perfect, it seems that things are okay, and I will take that after the roller coaster ride we've been on during the last year.
Bruce is starting to get back to his guitar. We spent a day in Emily, MN with the Lost Lonely Boys performing, and that was fun! Open mic is coming up this week at the 318, and that should be fun, too.
Other than that, I've been able to hold on to my little nursing job in S. Mpls. And Little Bohemian Heart. It seems we've weathered through some hard times, and survived!
I guess that summer is not quite over, so maybe we can fit in some more summer things before the big black birds make their stroll across the yard. I know that fall is here when that happens.
Sandy, there is just so much going on in your lives and so many big changes. ((((((HUGS)))) my friend and lots of prayers for you and your family.
