Minnesota State Fair 2024

We met Nick at the State Fair on his birthday this year. We only stayed about three hours, which is really not enough time to see everything, but we did try to fit in as many favorites as we could. The barns, DNR building, 4H building, Agricultural building, and Creative Arts building were priority, of course, plus some favorite foods like scotch eggs, a cider freeze, and a chocolate malt. We sat in the 4H building on the green benches in honor of Mom and Dad, and ended up watching a musical presentation by some high school kids about travel adventures only because at that point we were boxed in our seats, and it felt too awkward to get up and leave! They were singing their hearts out, though, which was kind of sweet. And, really, aren't things like this the essence of the State Fair experience?

there they are, keeping us safe

Katie's family went another day (with Brianna, Jake, and Nick) so I'm sharing some photos of their day.

Maybe next year we stay longer. It might be fun to ride the Ye Old Mill once more, and walk by the giant slide and the Fox9 booth. Would the Jason Show be on? Or, check out the Dairy building and take a look at the Butter Sculptures. Take a stroll through the Midway and remember how when I was younger, that was where I pretty much spent my entire day at the Fair! We also learned a new strategy concerning parking. There were no spots available in the Park and Ride ramp when we first got there, but we decided to just sit in the car until a bus returned and dropped off people, and a great parking spot opened up!

See you next year! 💥🐂
